Jose,

We've done some extensive work on ecological ontologies within the EML
community with OBOE. I suggest you might make a lot of progress by
extending the entity and characteristic classes in OBOE. We've written
a couple of papers on OBOE, including Madin et al in Ecological
informatics and Madin st al in TREE. Let us know if you want help with
OBOE.
